For a long time, life felt… monotone.
Wake up.
Show up.
Check off the boxes.
Survive the day.
Repeat.
I wore all my titles with pride—mom, wife, teacher, business owner—but somewhere along the way, I forgot about me.
The me who used to laugh loudly.
The me who danced for no reason.
The me who felt sexy, creative, light, young.
Until one day, I realized:
I don’t need anyone else’s permission to feel alive. I just need mine.

So I started saying it out loud:
- I have permission to feel beautiful.
- I have permission to do something fun.
- I have permission to rest.
- I have permission to feel sexy.
- I give myself permission to feel young again.
And when I did—when I actually believed those words—everything began to shift. Life didn’t change overnight. But I did.
If you’re feeling stretched thin, juggling responsibilities, and wondering when you disappeared under all those to-do lists, I want to share the biggest truths I had to learn to start living again:
1. Comparison is the Thief of Happiness
I had to stop measuring my life against someone else’s highlight reel. My timeline is not theirs. My value isn’t based on their success. I am enough, and I have enough.
2. Gratitude Changes Everything
When I started thanking God for what felt like “small” things—the laughter of my kids, a hot shower, a quiet cup of coffee—I realized how big those blessings truly were. Gratitude grounded me in the present and helped me stop chasing “more.”
3. Material Things Can’t Buy Joy
The shoes, the bags, the new gadgets—they’re fun, sure. But they don’t fill you. Real happiness? That came from doing things with the people I love, being present, and making memories—not purchases.
4. You’re Allowed to Feel Young Again
As kids, we chased joy, freedom, and adrenaline. Somewhere along the way, we were told to “calm down,” “be realistic,” “grow up.” But guess what? You’re still allowed to feel alive. Go on the rollercoaster. Dance in the rain. Say yes to spontaneity. Life isn’t supposed to be dull.
5. Rest is Not Laziness
I used to feel guilty sitting still. But rest isn’t quitting—it’s preparing. Giving myself permission to slow down gave me the energy to show up better for myself and everyone else.
This journey isn’t about abandoning the responsibilities of life—it’s about not abandoning yourself in the process.
We weren’t just born to serve everyone else’s needs. We were born to live. To love. To enjoy. To be bold and soft and curious and full of fire.
So, to the person reading this:
You have permission.
To laugh.
To take a break.
To feel beautiful again.
To chase a dream.
To live the life you’ve been quietly longing for.
You are not lost. You’re still in there. And she’s waiting for you to remember. 💛
